Miller travels well

Conde Nast Traveller coverThe PRs have been working hard for the 10th anniversary of the launch of Condé Nast’s Traveller magazine. And they certainly pushed all the buttons this week with profiles of editor Sarah Miller in media sections of the Guardian and Independent (both on Monday) and a nice mention in Wednesday’s Evening Standard.

Miller has been garlanded with awards, winning the BSME’s editor of the year title no less than four times and the PPA’s best lifestyle magazine award twice. It’s an area where the BBC was unable to make a mark with BBC Holidays, and Traveller saw off Emap’s Escape Routes after 18 months in 2001.

And she had time for some kind words in the Guardian for her erstwhile Emap rivals: ‘It’s very sad. A lot of people put in a lot of work into it.’
