About the Magforum blog
This blog is about magazines and magazine publishing. It is written by Tony Quinn, founder of Magforum.com in 2001. He was a magazine editor for a decade at BBC/Redwood where he launched and/or edited seven titles. He was then Head of the School of Publishing at West Herts College, where he lectured for about eight years. In 2000, he returned to journalism at the Financial Times. His publications include CD-Rom for Publishers (Pira, 1997), Marketing on the Web (2001), Doing Business on the Web (2001) and Online Essentials (2003). For four years he was Internet Editor for Croner’s Marketing Handbook. He was also on the editorial board for the Print and Production Manual (Pira/BPIF). He has run workshops in the UK and overseas for the British Council; lectured at Oxford Brookes University in marketing; and has given lectures in Switzerland in 2007 and 2008 on topics such as ‘Industry and the Press’, ‘Celebrities and the Media’ and ‘The Future of Digital Magazines’. He has also advised publishers on search engine optimisation.
